Dr. Frank Van Praet performs live surgery in Lisbon, demonstrating totally endoscopic mitral valve repair during the 5th International Course on Minimally Invasive and Robotic Cardiac Surgery, organised by UMICS Academy in collaboration with NOVA Medical School from 22 to 24 April 2026.
This three-day programme combines live surgery observation at Hospital Cruz Vermelha Portuguesa with intensive cadaveric training at NOVA Medical School in Carcavelos. The format is built around high-volume cases, focused lectures, and hands-on practice across aortic, mitral, tricuspid and minimally invasive coronary procedures.
On Thursday 23 April, Dr. Van Praet presents "Totally Endoscopic Mitral & Tricuspid Valve Surgery: How to make it look easy?" as part of the mitral valve module, followed by cadaver lab training sessions with the full faculty.
