In this four-day human cadaveric truly hands-on course, Dr. Frank Van Praet wants to prepare participants to be really ready to start an endoscopic mitral valve program.
The course is designed to take experienced cardiac surgeons through every aspect of endoscopic mitral valve surgery — from patient selection and cannulation strategies to the step-by-step repair and replacement techniques that have made the Heart Center Aalst one of the leading centers worldwide.
Each participant receives intensive individual guidance, working on dedicated cadaveric specimens equipped with realistic surgical setups. The program covers the full spectrum of mitral valve pathology, including degenerative disease, functional regurgitation, and complex re-operative cases.
By the end of the four days, participants will have gained the confidence and technical skills needed to establish their own endoscopic mitral valve programs at their home institutions.
